    Descripción

Girl Vow, Inc. is a city-wide nonprofit organization founded on the principle of gender-focused intensive mentorship for girls and gender-expansive youth aged 12 to 24 impacted by foster care, juvenile justice, and poverty. We aim to provide girls and gender-expansive youth with the foundation and support they lack through comprehensive, intensive mentorship, crisis management and aftercare, life skills workshops, and leadership opportunities. We work with girls at any stage of the juvenile justice process, and we are currently in secure and non-secure facilities throughout NYC, including Rikers Island.

The Project Coordinator is a key member of Girl Vow Inc.'s OVS-funded team, helping to build a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for justice-involved girls and survivors of gender-based violence. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that program operations, outreach, and service delivery are trauma-informed, inclusive, and aligned with our mission of systemic change and survivor leadership.

The Project Coordinator serves as a bridge between participants, staff, and community partners. They manage engagement, support direct service delivery, organize training sessions and events, and help ensure that services reach their intended impact. Working closely with the Project Manager and Project Assistant, the Project Coordinator ensures that documentation and reporting are thorough, timely, and in compliance with VOCA and OVS requirements. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication and organizational skills, a survivor-centered mindset, and a passion for justice and equity.

    Key Responsibilities:

Direct Services & Client Support (VOCA-Allowable):

    • Serve as a first point of contact for program participants, providing a warm, trauma-informed approach to engagement
    • Conduct and collect intake and exit forms to assess participant needs, track progress, and evaluate outcomes
    • Assist in facilitating support groups, healing-centered workshops, and skill-building trainings in partnership with the Project Manager
    • Provide crisis response and de-escalation support when needed, including during seminars or community events
    • Support the completion and submission of court or mandated program documentation on behalf of participants
    • Assist participants in navigating resources, referrals, and community services that support their safety and healing

    Participant Engagement & Outreach

    • Foster meaningful relationships with program participants to encourage ongoing engagement
    • Organize and participate in outreach activities, tabling events, and training coordination
    • Ensure that all engagement efforts are inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed
    • Work with the team to develop creative strategies for retaining participants and increasing workshop attendance

    Partner Communication & Coordination

    • Help maintain effective communication with community partners and referral agencies
    • Assist with organizing partner trainings, shared data collection, and referral processes
    • Attend meetings or events with partner organizations as needed to represent the project

    Reporting & Documentation

    • Collaborate with the Project Assistant to collect, track, and store all relevant documentation
    • Ensure participant records and activity logs are complete, accurate, and VOCA-compliant
    • Contribute to OVS-required programmatic reporting (e.g., PMTs) by organizing data and summarizing activities
    • Maintain confidential information according to federal and state guidelines

    Team Collaboration & Supervision

    • Participate in regular check-ins and planning meetings with the Project Manager
    • Provide support and mentorship to new staff or interns as needed
    • Offer insight and feedback during team evaluations to improve program structure and participant experience
    • Assist with shared leadership on specific program initiatives or campaigns

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in community programs, social services, or nonprofit environments
    • Demonstrated experience working with survivors of trauma, youth, or justice-involved individuals preferred
    • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, restorative justice, or healing-centered engagement approaches
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities
    • Experience with data collection, forms, or grant reporting is a plus
    • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, mission-driven team
    • Commitment to social justice, racial equity, and survivor advocacy
    • Spanish Speaking preferred

    Additional Information:

    • This is a full-time grant-funded position supported by the Office of Victim Services (OVS)
    • The position is based in New York City with some in-person workshop facilitation and community outreach.
