    About Us

    Global Growers Network (GGN) is a nonprofit based in Decatur, GA that partners with people from different cultural backgrounds to grow fresh food for their families and for local marketplaces. We work with 200 growers representing over 20 cultures and languages. We operate a network of community gardens in Decatur and Clarkston, a market farm located at the Indian Creek MARTA station in Stone Mountain, and a 22-acre organic co-farm in Conyers.

    Position Summary and Candidate Vision

    The Senior Development Associate supports and coordinates the organization’s fundraising activities, donor relations, and events. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, tech savvy communicator who finds satisfaction in deepening connections between donors and the organization’s network of farmers, growers and food systems leaders.

    Job Responsibilities

    Donor Stewardship & Engagement - 40%

    • Draft and design donor communications in electronic and print formats such as invitations, acknowledgements, event posters and fundraising appeals
    • Ensure an effective engagement experience for each donor and prospect: sending out electronic communications, scheduling meetings, email follow-up, personal thank you calls, disseminating programmatic updates, and tracking the progress of the donor experience

    Event & Campaign Coordination - 35%

    • Draft project action timelines and run-of-show plans for donor events and campaigns, set up project activities in project management system, and document progress of the project and specific tasks. Track project spending in budget worksheets
    • Implement assigned project activities to support in-person and online events and campaigns, meeting deadlines with accuracy, efficiency, and completeness.

    Database Management - 25%

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in Bloomerang; generate regular donor reports to support fundraising efforts
    • Process gifts and prepare timely gift acknowledgment letters, cultivation mailings, and other letters to donors, sponsors, and funders

    Other responsibilities as needed

    Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, administration and event planning, preferably in the context of local food systems and/or social justice work
    • Demonstrated experience writing and designing communications materials for donor engagement, fundraising campaigns or other sales and marketing campaigns
    • Experience with Bloomerang or similar donor CRM maintaining accounts and creating reports.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
    • Demonstrated event management experience
    • High proficiency using Google Workspace / Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented; punctual and able to meet deadlines
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, in a collaborative and multi-cultural environment
    • Access to reliable transportation for travel between GGN sites and to offsite meetings

    Location and Schedule

    This is a full time, non-exempt position requiring forty hours per week, with standard working hours, Monday - Friday, along with occasional pre-scheduled evening and weekend work. This position will primarily work from our office at Legacy Park in Decatur. The position will require at least 3 days/week at our office in Legacy Park. Remote/virtual work is possible outside of necessary in-office responsibilities.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits include: Healthcare Reimbursement Account ($370/month, begins after 90 days employment), cell phone stipend ($25/month), SIMPLE IRA retirement account (3% match), paid time off (starts at 14 days/year) and paid holidays (6 public holidays; 2 floating holidays; 2 week bonus time at year-end), professional development budget ($1,000/year), and paid parental leave (after 18 months employment).
