    About the Role

    The Education Specialist I plays an important role in supporting educational programs that empower individuals, families, and support networks affected by inheritable blood and bleeding disorders. Working closely with colleagues, chapters, healthcare partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders, the Education Specialist supports the planning and execution of educational initiatives, including coordinating events, developing content, engaging participants, and helping evaluate program outcomes. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Education, this position develops and delivers educational content and programs that promote health education, risk prevention, and capacity building across the bleeding disorders community. The ideal candidate is an organized and collaborative professional who enjoys managing multiple priorities, building relationships, and creating engaging learning experiences.

    Key Responsibilities

    Administration & Evaluation

    • Support the evaluation of educational programs and initiatives by gathering feedback, tracking outcomes, and assisting with reporting efforts.
    • Provide administrative and operational support to ensure educational programs and initiatives are delivered effectively and on schedule. Duties include contracts, reviewing invoices, issuing payments, and feedback collection.
    • Maintain proactive communication with supervisors and collaborators regarding project status, priorities, deadlines, and potential challenges.

    Event & Program Execution

    • Execute live education events, including planning logistics, recruiting speakers, and coordinating participants as needed.
    • Coordinate with chapters and Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) to support local educational programs by responding to educational needs, securing speakers, organizing travel logistics, and managing contracts and agreements.
    • Facilitate workshops and presentations at local and national events.
    • Recruit and coordinate volunteers, working groups, planning committee members, and program participants, including scheduling meetings, supporting follow-up activities, and providing logistical assistance.
    • Coordinate communication and activities among internal teams, volunteers, speakers, consultants, and community partners to support successful educational initiatives.

    Content Development & Collaboration

    • Develop and adapt educational content in a variety of formats, including presentations, workshops, print materials, videos, and digital resources for both online and in-person audiences.
    • Collaborate with consultants and subject matter experts to develop, review, and refine educational materials that are accurate, accessible, and engaging.
    • Partner with colleagues across departments and external stakeholders to support the development, promotion, and delivery of educational programming.

    What You Bring

    To qualify for this unique opportunity, our ideal candidate should have the following experience and education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 2+ years of experience in public health, nonprofit, community service, patient advocacy, or related settings.
    • Experience facilitating presentations, workshops, or educational programs for diverse audiences.
    • Familiarity with program development and execution with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, along with sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
    • Comfort with learning and adapting to new technologies and software platforms (AI tools, Canva, and Monday.com).
    • Bilingual proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) is strongly preferred.

    Where You Will Work

    This is a fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S. Applicants should be comfortable working remotely with a team dispersed across the country. This role requires some domestic travel, which includes overnight, weekends, and to our annual Bleeding Disorders Conference.

    Compensation

    We have carefully considered industry benchmarks, the experience required for this position, and internal salary comparisons to determine the appropriate salary range for this role. For this position, NBDF has set a starting base salary range of $52,000–$57,000 and it is non-negotiable due to our company's commitment to maintaining internal pay equity. This approach ensures that we maintain a fair and consistent compensation structure across the organization.
