    Washington for today and tomorrow.

    Job Description

OJCF seeks an experienced, relationship-driven Director of Donor Engagement to lead

the Foundation’s fundholder stewardship, donor education, charitable giving advising,

and donor community-building efforts. This exempt position is responsible for designing

impact. This position supervises the Fundholder Services Coordinator and works

    • Develop and implement OJCF’s overall donor engagement, stewardship, and

    fundholder experience strategy.

    • Plan, execute, and evaluate an annual donor education program, including

curriculum development, workshops, webinars, seminars, site visits, and other

learning opportunities for donors, prospective donors, and professional advisors.

    • Manage a portfolio of donor-advised, endowed, and supporting foundation funds,

serving as a trusted advisor to donors and families.

    • Design and oversee donor lifecycle engagement, including onboarding,

stewardship, fund replenishment, donor recognition, succession planning, and

    legacy giving opportunities.

    • Coordinate all aspects of educational and stewardship events, including content

development, speaker recruitment, marketing, registration, logistics, budgeting,

    and participant engagement.

    • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that promote

donor engagement, educational programming, giving opportunities, and donor

    impact.

    • Create presentations, educational materials, donor communications, newsletters,

impact stories, stewardship reports, and other donor-facing content.

    • Build meaningful relationships with fundholders through meetings, stewardship

plans, and proactive outreach designed to deepen donor engagement and

    satisfaction.

    • Identify opportunities for additional giving, fund growth, charitable planning,

    family engagement, and community impact.

    • Supervise the Fundholder Services Coordinator and establish systems and

procedures that support excellent donor service and stewardship.

    • Oversee stewardship tracking, donor engagement reporting, and the effective

use of CRM systems and donor data to inform relationship management and

    strategic decision-making.

    • Manage supporting foundation and grantmaking fund relationships and assist

with special initiatives and giving programs.

    • Collaborate with colleagues across advancement, finance, communications, and

operations to advance OJCF’s donor engagement and community-building goals.

    • Represent OJCF at donor, community, and professional events.

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Five or more years of experience in charitable giving, fundraising, donor

relations, community engagement, financial services, or related fields.

    • Demonstrated success building and managing donor, client, or constituent

    relationships.

    • Experience designing and leading educational programs, events, or community

    engagement initiatives.

    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
    • Strong strategic thinking and project management abilities.
    • Experience supervising staff and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
    • High degree of emotional intelligence, professionalism, and customer-service

    orientation.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/database systems.
    • Knowledge of charitable giving vehicles, donor-advised funds, endowment giving,

    and/or planned giving is preferred.

A successful candidate will enjoy working on a small team and be capable of navigating

complex, shifting priorities. A commitment to OJCF’s mission and values is essential.

Knowledge of Jewish practices or experience within the Jewish community is welcomed

    but not required.
