    Position Title: Executive Director

    Reports To: Board of Directors

    Status: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt

    Location: Vancouver, WA (hybrid)

    Salary: $75,000-$90,000; DOE

    The mission of A Caring Closet (ACC) is to restore dignity and self-sufficiency to the under-served and under-insured by providing gently used Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to those in need at NO COST in Southwest Washington.

    About the Role:

    As an experienced non-profit leader, the Executive Director will lead the organization in the development and operationalization of strategic planning initiatives, fund-raising, customer service and volunteer management, community relations and advocacy, partnership development and management, and financial planning, management and administration. This position reports to the Board of Directors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage daily operations with a focus on efficient systems and volunteer engagement.
    • Shape and maintain a culture of caring, honesty and respect
    • Help shape the development of vision, mission, and strategic plans, and implement organizational design, policies and procedures needed to achieve organizational goals
    • Assure organizational sustainability through the development and implementation of a comprehensive fund-raising plan
    • Responsible for community relations, including partner development and management, advocacy, and presentations to community groups
    • Support the Board of Directors in leading ACC
    • Act at the Chief Fundraiser for the organization

    Qualifications:

    • Three years of experience as an Executive Director, Deputy Director, Director of Development or similar role in a non-profit organization
    • Successful achievement in non-profit operations including strategic planning, fund development, budgeting, financial management, human resources, and advocacy
    • Experience in grant writing and grant management
    • Supervision and volunteer management experience
    • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships and successful partnerships with people and organizations from diverse backgrounds, points of view and industry sectors
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications, CRM databases (i.e. DonorPerfect), social media outreach platforms
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Successful outreach and public speaking
    • Ability to pass a background check including a clean driving record
    • Reliable transportation

    ADA Physical Requirements:

    A Caring Closet operates from a 4,000 sf warehouse with an office located on a loft accessed by stairs. The successful candidate will be required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; vision/sight to utilize computer screens, immediate environment, and detect potential hazards; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 30 pounds.
