In Pennsylvania, Teach Plus has grown from one program in Philadelphia in 2017 to multiple programs across the state, including the Teaching Policy Fellowship, the Philadelphia and Southwest PA Affinity Group Networks, the Pennsylvania Literacy Coalition, and a forthcoming literacy pilot in southwest PA. Our teacher leaders have successfully advanced policies on early literacy, teacher diversity, and school funding, and have partnered with schools to improve instruction and student outcomes. The Pennsylvania region fundraises and operates a budget of over $2M each year across programs throughout the commonwealth.
What You’ll Do:
Teach Plus Pennsylvania is seeking a Director of Development to collaborate closely with the PA Executive Director to lead all local fundraising efforts for our Pennsylvania region. This role will report directly to the PA Executive Director and work closely with the National Development Team to sustain and grow philanthropic support from institutional, corporate, and individual donors. The Director of Development will create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned to our regional growth and impact goals, and serve as a key external ambassador for the region’s work. The position requires a highly organized and self-motivated professional who has experience managing diverse funding sources and pipelines, including philanthropy, major gifts, and individual giving efforts, exercises the highest level of discretion, and can work independently while coordinating with team members located in multiple locations toward meeting the region’s total annual fundraising goal of $2M+. This is a unique opportunity to join a passionate, mission-driven team and play a critical role in ensuring teachers are supported as agents of change in Pennsylvania’s education system.

Location, Travel, and Commitment
This is a full-time, remote position based in Pennsylvania (Philadelphia or Pittsburgh preferred). Regular travel within the commonwealth (approximately 15-20%) is expected. Candidates must be willing to attend in-person funder meetings and events on behalf of Teach Plus PA.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $85,000-$110,000. The salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's specific qualifications, years of relevant experience, specialized knowledge, and internal equity. Teach Plus provides a comprehensive benefits package and time-off, including 15 vacation days, 3 personal days, 5 sick days, 13 holidays, July break, Winter break, paid parental leave, and a 4-week paid sabbatical for every five years of service.
