This is a field-focused position. Organizers should be comfortable talking with community members, canvassing, phone banking, building relationships, and working toward voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach through door knocking, phone banking, texting, canvassing, community events, and other engagement activities.
- Educate community members about voter registration, early voting, absentee voting, Election Day, and other civic engagement opportunities.
- Recruit, engage, and support volunteers participating in COA's organizing and voter engagement efforts.
- Build relationships with community members, particularly within immigrant, Black, Brown, youth, and historically underrepresented communities.
- Meet weekly outreach, volunteer recruitment, and organizing goals.
- Use VAN and Empower Project to manage voter and volunteer data, cut turf, coordinate field activities, and maintain accurate records.
- Represent COA professionally and participate in staff meetings, trainings, canvasses, phone banks, and other organizing activities.
