    PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

    The Coordinator, Monitoring, Evaluation, & Learning (MEL) is responsible for the administration of the Strategic Learning & Impact unit’s operations. The position coordinates the effective execution of selected complex MEL projects with cross-functional teams, consultants, and implementing program partners. The MEL Coordinator provides project management support across multiple priorities with interdependent timelines, including logistics, documentation, progress tracking, and communication. The position is responsible for adherence to all required procedures and quality standards and contributing to operations and process improvements. The MEL Coordinator works with the Senior Director, SLI supporting Episcopal Relief & Development’s core values and strategic goals.

    Operations Administration

    • Organize and maintain SLI operations for optimal efficiency and effectiveness, including the SLI team’s recurring processes, Asana projects, annual plan tracking, MEL resources, Box.com folders, and Asana project templates.
    • Manage team operations and activities, track progress – including Asana project set up, scheduling, logistics, meeting agendas and pre-assignments, required documentation, status reports, budget tracking, and communications.
    • Develop and contribute to quality and process improvements in SLI operations to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Prepare status reports and effective communications on annual plan and key SLI initiatives using PowerPoint, Canva and other tools.

    Consultant and Vendor Administration

    • Manage the procurement process for SLI consultants in compliance with internal standards, including competitive bidding and contracting processes; coordinate cross-functional inputs, preparation and signing of Consulting Agreements with Scopes of Work.
    • Track consultants’ deliverables and invoicing per approved timelines; prepare invoice payment requests and ensure timely processing of payments.

    Partner Tablet Management

    • Prepare and track tablets for data collection procurement plans and budgeting with SLI and Focus Area Directors.
    • Execute tablet procurement and set up workflow with partners, program and IT staff, ensuring data security compliance.
    • Maintains records of tablets in active use and coordinate troubleshooting.

    Project Evaluation Workflow Management

    • Prepare and maintain up-to-date the multi-year evaluation and research plan and timeline.
    • Execute the evaluation workflow process with partners and consultants conducting evaluations, in collaboration with Program Officers and project teams.
    • Coordinate execution of evaluation dissemination plans, including knowledge products’ distribution; manage evaluation dissemination events with Focus Area Directors.
    • MEL Technical Assistance Process: track incoming requests from partners and program staff and assign to an SLI staff member per criteria; monitor to ensure timely resolution. Provide direct MEL technical assistance as assigned.
    • MEL Systems Initiatives: Supporting Project Managers or under the direction of Project Managers organize and maintain Asana projects up-to-date, coordinate team meetings, monitor timelines and dependencies between projects, identify and troubleshoot risks, follow up on action items, prepare status reports and regular updates to teams.
    • MEL Training Events (virtual and in-person): organize and coordinate logistics, resources, participant communications, and translation/interpretation consultants, serve as producer for MEL Community of Practice virtual sessions and others as needed.

    MEL Resource Development

    • Prepare templates, formats and/or finalize MEL resources and presentation materials.
    • Coordinate resource production and translation with consultants.

    Back-up Support: provide back up for MEL Officer

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Public Administration, social sciences, or related field.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of 2 years of project coordination experience in an administrative, operations or project support role. Familiarity with program monitoring and evaluation experience a plus.
    • Experience in international nonprofit or governmental organizations or international/cross-cultural experience.
    • Proven effectiveness in project management and ability to organize and deliver work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, supporting teams to ensure quality deliverables produced on time.
    • Experience performing successfully in a remote-work environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally in cross-cultural settings.

    SKILLS:

    • Expertise in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience with Asana or other project management software
    • Project management skills; highly adept at organizing, planning, scheduling, and monitoring to contribute to complex projects’ achieving objectives on time and at quality.
    • High attention to detail
    • Strong organizing, prioritizing, and time management skills for effective self-management, task execution and personal accountability; proactive and a self-starter; quick learner.
    • Proven ability to work and coordinate with others under pressure on concurrent projects, delivering to tight timelines.
    • Proven ability to produce high-quality work both independently and as part of cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, collaborating effectively.
    • Flexibility and adaptability, ability to seamlessly juggle multiple priorities and shifting timelines
    • Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to manage complex or difficult situations with tact, diplomacy and good humor.
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and build relationships with a diverse array of professionals, effective communicator.
    • Fluency in English required; additional proficiency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese desirable.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Passionate about Episcopal Relief & Development’s mission and impact
    • Ability and willingness to work Eastern time business hours and some business hours of program partner countries
    • May be required to work long hours and a varied schedule including occasional evenings and weekends
    • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally in the U.S. and possibly in diverse and under-resourced environments internationally
