    Position Overview:

    YES’ Media Coordinator position is designed to coordinate all of YES’ media efforts and engagement - from social media posting and newsletter writing to program media needs. This role is designed to build YES’ media infrastructure, create predictability in media scheduling and capturing, and document YES’ story and organizational impact in a compelling and engaging way. This role is developed to expand its media footprint and reach through videography, photography, and written mechanisms. A secondary function of this role is to support the programmatic and organization-specific media needs on and off-site and to archive and organize YES’ historical media files for accessibility and ease of use.

    Position Responsibilities:

    YES’ Media Coordinator engages in tasks related to photography, videography, social media management, newsletter development, among other media support tasks. The tasks also include graphic design, media assessment, archiving, and media organizing. The responsibilities are more clearly defined below:

    Photography and Videography

    • Capture photos and video at YES-specific programs, outings, and special events
    • Utilize photos and footage for social media postings and to create documentary-like videos
    • Organize and arrange video or in-person interviews with staff and stakeholders to promote programs and special events
    • Post daily photography and videography to newsletter chat
    • Select photography and video footage for promotional materials or grant support

    Social Media

    • Create and manage social media content schedule on a weekly and monthly basis
    • Compose social media captions and post content on various social media channels daily
    • Engage and interact with stakeholders and viewers on social media

    Composition

    • Collect, write, and edit stories for monthly newsletter
    • Write student highlight for monthly newsletter
    • Support photo selection process for newsletter images
    • Upload photos into constant contact and support newsletter template design
    • Contribute to the writing and editing of grants, reports, and internal and external communications with stakeholders and staff, etc.

    Graphic Design

    • Develop program and special event flyers, brochures, booklets, invitations, stationary
    • Create YES marketing, branding, and promotional materials for organizational outreach
    • Maintain regular updates on in-house materials and digital media (i.e. website, letterhead, etc.)
    • Create business cards for new staff members
    • Create student IDs for program participants
    • Create staff IDs for new employees

    Media Cataloguing, Organizing, and Archiving

    • Upload all of YES media to google drive
    • Organize all of YES’ digital media using a standard naming convention
    • Archive and digitize program and event materials
    • Transfer video and photos from newsletter chat to appropriate folders

    Program Support

    • Create and implement quarterly media assessments to better understand each program and event media needs (photography, videography, social media posting, booklets, brochures, flyers, interviews, stationary, etc.)
    • Edit students’ end of program deliverables for YCLA, Learn and Earn, and other programs
    • Provide in-session support when needed

    Compensation

    • Compensation is commensurate with experience

    Compensación
