    Historic Hudson Valley (HHV) is a Westchester-based education, arts, and culture non-profit that welcomes visitors to five National Historic Landmarks, including Philipsburg Manor, Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, and Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate. HHV offers an array of K-12 school programs, public tours, and a range of seasonal events, including the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, a retelling of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and other artistic productions. The organization has a national reputation for groundbreaking on-site educational programs and award-winning digital content related to Northern colonial enslavement, regional women’s history, and American culture and storytelling.

    Historic Hudson Valley seeks a detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and experienced manager with strong technical and problem-solving skills who will support the strategy and process of the Development team in raising funds. In particular, the Development Operations Manager will play a key role in optimizing the Development team’s use of HHV’s CRM system, Tessitura, and managing the general membership program.

    Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Operations Manager will be part of a 4-person development team that is easy-going, good-humored, and creative while maintaining high standards and focusing on results. This role will:

    • Work with the Development team to optimize its use of Tessitura in data strategy, reporting, accuracy, analysis, and administration, including gift processing and acknowledgments
    • Work with the Finance and Development teams to ensure proper classification of gifts and reconcile revenue records
    • Manage communications with, benefits for, and data related to HHV’s general members in collaboration with HHV’s marketing and communications team
    • Work with Donor Relations Manager to identify and cultivate prospects from general membership
    • Support planning and execution of Development events
    • Support communications with donors, including appeal, renewal, and acknowledgment letters, benefit fulfillment, invitations, and RSVPs
    • Manage a portfolio of event sponsors and corporate and hospitality partners
    • Help coordinate with production companies for filming/photography on HHV properties
    • Collaborate with team to ensure efficient, effective departmental operations

    The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant work experience and the following skills and attributes:

    • Significant proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Office and CRM programs and/or fundraising databases; experience with Tessitura is especially desirable
    • Relevant experience in fundraising, database management, gift processing, marketing, nonprofit management, project management, or related fields
    • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills: experience building relationships internally and externally at all levels
    • Excellent task and project management skills; ability to prioritize work and keep track of multiple competing demands

    Work Conditions:

    ✔ General office environment.

    ✔ Occasional travel to HHV sites.

    ✔ Some evening, weekend, and holiday assignments in support of HHV’s fall events.

    Compensation:

    ✔ Salary: $65,000-$75,000 (dependent on experience).
