Interim Producing Director

CounterPulse, a leading San Francisco venue for cutting-edge interdisciplinary performance, is hiring an Interim Producing Director as it moves into a phased return to full programming beginning October 2026. This is the first new hire in a rebuild period following a period of skeleton staffing, and the role runs through a tentative end date of December 23, 2026.

The IPD will implement the Fall 2026 Artist Residency program (contracts, calendars, production management, artist liaison), run the facility rental program (inquiries, site visits, contracts, invoicing), and supervise a part-time program assistant and a maintenance worker. Reports to the Board of Directors.

We’re looking for an experienced live-event producer with strong organizational skills, theater production knowledge, and the flexibility to work in an evolving organization. Familiarity with theater infrastructure (lighting, sound, rigging) is a plus.

Part-time, $45/hr, 20-30 hrs/week, minimum 10 hrs on-site. Some remote flexibility
