Data Analyst/Data Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
- Transform, analyze and clean large datasets from various sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Identify trends, anomalies, and patterns in data, and generate actionable insights to inform decisions
- Design ,create, and deploy quality assurance during every step of campaigns
- Write, modify, and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and manage data
- Normalize and cross-reference data from different sources (e.g., databases, APIs, spreadsheets, rawdata, .txt) to ensure data integrity
- Develop, update and maintain automated reporting systems
- Work with tools like SQL, Excel, Access, NPG VAN, Minivan and Hustle to analyze and manage datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions and improve processes
- Generate and present reports, visualizations, and summaries of data findings to stakeholders at all levels
- Implement and adhere to project rules and standard operating procedures to ensure high-quality, reliable results
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis as required and support ongoing analytics initiatives
- Ability to assist with pivot data strategies to best fit different stages of campaigns
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support project objectives and optimize operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data analysis (internships or equivalent work experience considered).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas), and Access; experience with NPG VAN, Minivan and Hustle is a plus
- Experience with ETL processes and data integration techniques
- Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MS SQL or MYSQL
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis, automation, and reporting.
- Understanding of statistical analysis methods and their application in data analysis
- Experience with data visualization tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve data quality issues
- Knowledge of VBA for automation of repetitive tasks in Excel and Access is a plus
- Strong understanding of data governance and maintaining data confidentiality and integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with full data lifecycle of organizing campaigns
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members to accomplish shared goals
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours as needed with diverse staff and members
- Commitment to social justice and labor unions a must
