    Working as a member of a seven-person team and reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Development Associate/ Assistant is a critical member of the Cambridge in America Fundraising team and will be engaged in a number of areas critical to CAm’s success.

    These include:

    Donor Relations

    • Manage strategic acknowledgement process for six-figure+ donors and other VIP donors as appropriate;
    • Oversee major outreach projects, including holiday greetings and other stewardship opportunities.

    Donor Cultivation Events

    • Assist front-line fundraisers to identify, invite, and track guests to Major and Planned Giving cultivation events in CAm’s major regions across the US and Canada;
    • Support Events team in logistics, including site visits, briefing preparation, and social media amplification.

    Development Team Operations

    • Support Major Gift Officers by assisting with proposal drafting, prospect tracking for particular campaigns, and individual/ large-scale outreach to prospects and donors;
    • Coordinate team meetings with Collegiate Cambridge colleagues, in person in NYC and remote, when needed (may focus on prospect review, emerging philanthropic priorities; orientation to CAm for new Cambridge partners);
    • Assist in tracking regular progress on Principal Gift prospects;
    • Assist with database reports and data integrity.

    CAm Board and Committees

    • Assist in preparation for and implementation of regular meetings for CAm’s major volunteer committees: the Cambridge in America Board, the CAm Advisory Group, and six regional Advisory Committees across the US and Canada.

    Travel

    • Manage master itinerary document for US based visits by the Vice Chancellor and other University leaders;
    • Manage master itineraries for CAm staff who travel to the University;
    • Book travel as appropriate;
    • Liaise with Finance on associated payments.

    Other Duties as Assigned

    Qualifications

    • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s degree or higher.
    • 1-3 years’ experience working in development, marketing, communications, or sales; experience working in a complex organization or university setting preferred.
    • Capacity to develop and maintain trust and collegiality within a highly collaborative and complex working environment.
    • A high degree of professionalism, patience, and tact.
    • Excellent writing, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Must be authorized to work in the US.
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Must possess the ability to adapt to new software programs.

    Salary range:$50,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

    This is an exempt position.

    CAm is currently operating on a hybrid schedule of three days working in the office and two days working remotely.
