Accountant

Background

Syrbanism is seeking qualified Accountant to join its team. The Accountant will support the financial management of projects, ensuring accurate record-keeping, proper documentation, and compliance with internal and donor requirements.

Scope of Work:

• Record and track all financial transactions, receipts, and payments.
• Maintain organized financial files (both hard copy and digital).
• Prepare and verify expense documentation according to templates provided.
• Support preparation of financial reports by providing accurate data and documents.
• Assist with preparing Requests for Order (RFOs), payment requests, and petty cash reconciliations.
• Ensure all supporting documents are complete and compliant before submission.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information at all times.

Deliverables:

• Accurate and updated financial transaction records.
• Complete and organized financial documentation for monthly reporting.
• Petty cash reports and reconciliations submitted on time.
• Fully compliant supporting documentation for all expenses.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Based in Damascus and able to work in person.
• Diploma or university degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of other finance software is an advantage.
• Ability to work with confidential information.
