    About the organization

    NGO Committee on the Status of Women, NY (or NGO CSW/NY) is a convener of global civil society for the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and global gender equality advocacy. Each year, the annual CSW session takes place for two weeks in March at the UN headquarters in New York.

    Founded in 1972, we are a coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations, and individuals concerned with gender equality and the rights and empowerment of women and girls. NGO CSW/NY's main project is organizing the annual NGO CSW Forum in order to bridge the gap between global civil society and grassroots organizations, and the official UN Commission on the Status of Women. We are a volunteer-based, non-profit (501(c)3) organization funded largely by individual contributions and foundation grants. To learn more about our work, please visit https://ngocsw.org/.

    The NGO CSW/NY team is looking for a Advocacy & Administrative Intern to help develop and facilitate a platform for the voices and leadership of feminists and women’s rights organizations globally. The intern would have an essential role in administrative support for NGO CSW/NY’s yearly programing and supporting the development of the NGO CSW71 Forum platform, one of the largest civil society gatherings at the United Nations. Interns will also have the opportunity to network and connect with global activists, organizations, and those within the UN system during the CSW and throughout the Committees year-round programming.

    This 9 month internship requires interns to work 3 days a week for a minimum of 10-15 hours.

    • Monthly blog posts;
    • Attending UN and civil society meetings/events and reporting back;
    • Providing support and customer service to our constituency;
