About the Foundation
Founded in 2003 by Duncan and Nancy MacMillan, the MacMillan Family Foundation is a not-for-profit grantmaking institution dedicated to supporting organizations that help strengthen and enrich our society in three major areas: medical research, with an emphasis on cancer research; education; and the arts. In addition, the Foundation is undertaking a limited grants program focusing on the environment. Headquartered in New York City, the Foundation primarily focuses its grantmaking in New York City and New Jersey.
Overview
The Foundation seeks an intern to provide a range of administrative, operational, and research support on a part-time basis in Fall 2025. Reporting to the Program Officer and supporting the full team, this position is an ideal opportunity to gain exposure to philanthropic strategies and foundation operations and learn about the work of a variety of nonprofit organizations within our program areas. They will be able to make a meaningful contribution to advance the Foundation’s mission by working collaboratively with a small team. Candidates for this position must be able to work in person at our offices Tuesday through Thursday.
