    JOB SUMMARY:

    This position provides a learning experience in research, data collection, analysis, and reporting support to enhance the effectiveness of SAWSO’s grants to overseas partners. This role will assist in aggregating, analyzing and presenting monitoring and evaluation data along with financial data as they relate to projects that SAWSO funds overseas across the sectors of livelihoods, health, education, anti-human trafficking, and business development.

      Search and aggregate data for output and outcome metrics across SAWSO’s projects through the Salvation Army’s project databases

        Create inventory of key metrics across country portfolios and design country profiles that succinctly and effectively convey gathered metrics

          Provide analysis and data visualization of key indicators to share within SAWSO and to share out internationally with a variety of stakeholders

            Provide lists of possible metrics and analysis that could be done using the data currently available within the project databases

              Support Technical Advisors in research related to indicators and data for their respective sectors as they relate to outcome indicators across the sector portfolio

                Work with the National Community Relations Department to curate relevant and impactful data to share with donors and use in national publications and fundraising initiatives

                OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

                Performs other related work as required and assigned by the Technical Advisor for Livelihoods.

                Must demonstrate dependability through attendance and punctuality.

                MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

                Computer and Printer Photocopy Machine Scanner

                MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

                EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

                  High school diploma; current college student or graduate in International Studies, Economics, or Statistics preferred

                    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, particularly in data analysis and data visualization

                      Knowledge of statistical programming (R, Stata, etc.) preferred

                        Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment

                          A willingness to work both as a team member and independently

                          LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

                          A valid driver’s license.

                          KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

                          • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office365 (primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
                          • Ability to learn and retain the broad scope of all NHQ section operations and services in order to serve as an effective information resource and to aid in a timely and effective manner.
                          • Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple deadline projects at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized.
                          • Ability to gather, compile, and assemble information into a final professional appearance product for letters, records, reports, etc.
                          • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines.

                          MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

                          Ability to meet attendance requirements.

                          Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate the English language.

                          Demonstrated research and analytical skills
