Social Promotion Internship

We are NEXO Sicilia, a young, newly-founded social enterprise located in Agrigento, Sicily. We are looking for motivated interns to join one of our partner organizations, T.T.T. - Tierra, Techo, Trabajo APS, and support activities at their Social Library and project hub, a community space dedicated to civic engagement, education, inclusion, and social participation.

Through educational, cultural, and community-based initiatives, the library works to strengthen community ties, foster diversity and inclusivity, support young people, and encourage active citizenship within a neighborhood that greatly benefits from accessible opportunities for learning, connection, and participation.

Your role

• Engage with local residents to assess community needs, build trust, and promote inclusivity.
• Plan and deliver inclusive activities that encourage cultural exchange, education, and social interaction across all age groups.
• Organize and coordinate events by managing logistics, ensuring smooth execution, and supporting participant well-being.
• Design and teach beginner-level English or Spanish lessons using accessible, interactive methods that build confidence.
• Promote activities through creative outreach strategies, including social media and documentation of outcomes.
• Facilitate dialogue and interactions that strengthen relationships and foster mutual understanding within the community.

Apply if this is you:

• You are currently studying or have a background in Social Sciences, Sociology, Education, Pedagogy, Communication, International Relations, Development Studies, Community Development, Youth Work, or related fields
• You are interested in community development, civic engagement, social inclusion, and creating meaningful opportunities for young people
• You enjoy working with diverse groups of people and helping build welcoming, supportive, and inclusive communities
• You are proactive, open-minded, and comfortable organizing activities, workshops, and events that bring people together
• You are communicative, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to projects with a tangible local impact
• You have a good command of English, Italian or Spanish (minimum B1 level).

Our Community Resources

To ensure a smooth and successful internship, all our interns have access to the following resources:

• Shared accommodation in fully furnished apartments (utilities included)
• Italian language classes (beginner and intermediate levels)
• Administrative support throughout the internship
• Participation in cultural activities and events

Our Requirements:

• You are eligible for the Erasmus+ program or a similar international mobility program, which typically provide you with financial support
• You are available to spend at least 4 months in Agrigento
• You are able to cover possible short-distance commuting expenses related to the internship
