    Employment Status: Part-Time | Non-exempt | Hybrid | DC-Metro Area Only

    OVERVIEW:

    Established by Congress in 1974, the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is the country’s single largest funder of civil legal aid for low-income Americans. LSC currently funds 129 independent legal aid offices nationwide. LSC’s mission is to promote equal access to justice and provide grants for high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income Americans.

    The Office of Training and Technical Assistance (OTTA) supports LSC grantees by delivering high-quality training programs, technical assistance resources, and capacity-building initiatives. OTTA works collaboratively across LSC offices to strengthen professional development, improve service delivery, and promote best practices in legal aid.

    The internships are based in Washington, DC, and will require working from an office in DC in accordance with LSC’s hybrid work model. The successful candidates must live in the DC metropolitan area for the duration of the internship

    BASIC FUNCTION:

    The primary objectives of this internship are for the intern to:

    • Strengthen training, technical, and project management skills;

    • Build skills in organizing training materials, images, templates, and other visual assets;
    • Strengthen time management and effective professional behaviors while working on multiple time-sensitive projects;
    • Gain hands-on experience supporting OTTA’s learning platforms, digital content, and resource organization

    The internship is expected to run from September through December 2026. Interns will work part-time, up to 28 hours per week during the fall.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assisting with curating, organizing, and updating materials for the LSC website, social media accounts, and other OTTA communication platforms.
    • Supporting the OTTA team in planning and preparing trainings for varied audiences, including grantee staff in service and administrative roles, Rural Summer Legal Corps Fellows, and trainings developed in partnership with the Offices of Compliance and Enforcement, Program Performance, or Data Governance and Analysis. Support may range from gathering and compiling notes to script development, recording, and video editing.
    • Conducting independent research on topics such as learning and development trends and innovative practices, recent grantee innovations in service delivery or organizational administration, and learning and development tools, technologies, and resources that may support OTTA’s work.
    • Assisting team members with the content development process, which may include testing content in development, organizing data, taking notes during stakeholder meetings, gathering information, tracking follow-up items, and completing other related tasks.
