TIRN is seeking a dynamic, committed Development Intern with an interest in conservation issues to assist the Development team in growing support for the organization. We are seeking an energetic, organized, responsible team player who is a strong writer and a self-starter.
This internship will impart a solid, working understanding of nonprofit administration and fundraising. This internship provides the opportunity to work and learn at an established non-profit education organization dedicated to environmental advocacy and wildlife protection.
The intern will complete specific projects related to development and fundraising during the internship and participate in ongoing administrative tasks. This position requires a six-month commitment with flexible working hours, and will receive a $100 stipend each month.

We accomplish our mission through grassroots empowerment, consumer action, strategic litigation, hands-on restoration, environmental education, and by promoting sustainable local, national and international marine policies.

The Development Intern will gain experience working with the Development Manager and other team members on tasks which may include:
- Research and identify potential individual and foundation prospects for giving;
- Assist in preparation and writing of foundation grant proposals and reports;
- Research and develop fundraising partnerships with progressive companies;
- Develop visual materials including web pages, presentations, online brochures and promotional videos;
- Help maintain TIRN’s donor databases as needed and assist with data processing, reporting, reconciliation with finance;
- Assist with other development tasks as they arise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must:
- Possess or be in pursuit of a four year degree in a related field or commensurate work related experience.
- Excellent English-language writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrate maturity, diplomacy and tact
- Candidates must be ethical, helpful and thoughtful.
- Be proficient with Google Workspace.
- Have a desire to learn, be flexible, productive and self-reliant, and contribute to building a positive team atmosphere.
