In 1986, the Delaware County Pregnancy Center opened its doors with one staff person and two volunteers in the most vulnerable location in the county, Chester, Pennsylvania. Twenty years later, DCPC has a staff of 4 and several volunteers of which most have gone through intensive training to become Client Advocates. Our non-profit privately funded Christ-centered ministry that serves the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of women before, during, and after an unplanned pregnancy.
The center's Limited Medical Clinic is equipped to provide free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds for early determination of viable pregnancies which allows the women to seek immediate prenatal care. This contributes to healthy pregnancies and babies. Clients participating in the Parenting Program earn points toward maternity clothes, baby clothes, and other items. As a preventive measure, our Abstinence Programs works with youth to educate them about the risks and complications of premarital sex.
