OUR VISION 

Every minute somewhere in the world a woman dies from breast cancer. Our vision is that fewer women die from breast cancer. 

OUR MISSION

We help women find breast cancer as early as possible. 

OUR GOAL WITH THE UNITED NATIONS

As an Associated Member of the United Nations Department of Global Communications, we will be a change-agent for this goal with breast cancer. We are aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3 to “Reduce Deaths from incommunicable diseases (like breast cancer) by one-third by 2030.”

OUR IMPACT

We make an impact by transforming how the world views breast cancer and breast health by “changing the picture of breast cancer for good.” When our work helps a woman realize they have a symptom, or understands the importance of screening, and they get diagnosed early as a result, that’s our ultimate goal.

OUR PROGRAMS

We partner with passionate people, companies, organizations and teachers around the world to educate minds and improve lives through knowledge and women’s empowerment. This is done through the Know Your Lemons Global Education Program, a 3-pronged approach for early detection that includes: the campaign, volunteer “Lemonistas” and our Know Your Lemons app.

THE CAMPAIGN

How we reach the General Public: The #KnowYourLemons Campaign is an incredibly popular awareness tool for the public that has reached nearly 1 billion people online alone. The campaign is distributed via social media, posters, videos, lemon-themed merchandise, and experiences that delight.

“LEMONISTAS” OUR VOLUNTEER EDUCATORS

How we work with volunteers: Educators, known as “Lemonistas” are volunteer advocates that help people in their local communities become more aware, more engaged, and more confident in their breast health. They are the “boots on the ground” that connect patients to local services and make the message approachable in a friendly setting. 

Lemonistas are trained via an online course who are given digital tools to teach, and access to materials at a discount. We work closely with them to spread the KYL message to those who aren’t currently engaged with their breast health and not easily reached with the online campaign or app alone.
