Acerca de

The Fondwa Creole Institute is an initiative of the University of Fondwa, and APF, the Association of Peasants of Fondwa. The institute is a social enterprise, founded in January 2011 with a dual purpose: 1) to bridge the language gap between French/Creole speakers and speakers of other languages in Haiti through Creole language education and a full-service human interpretation service, and 2) to generate revenue for the operations and programs of the University of Fondwa.

In line with the mission of both APF and UNIF, the Fondwa Creole Institute seeks to support the sustainable development of all of Haiti.

The goal of the University of Fondwa is to educate the sons and daughters of rural Haitians to become leaders in Haiti’s
sustainable development. The University offers accredited degree programs in Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine, and Business as well as non-degree intensive language courses in English and Haitian Creole and a Cultural Immersion program. The University of Fondwa was founded in 2004 by Father Joseph Philippe, who is also the founder of the microcredit organization Fonkoze, and the Association of the Peasants of Fondwa.
