AUTISM HOPES
Misión
Our mission is to fill a significant need in providing service dogs to children with autism that also deal with respiratory allergies, which may otherwise prevent them from the experiencing the benefits of a service animal.
Multiple studies have shown that those with ASD are more likely to also have respiratory allergies and asthma. With the most common service dogs used being Golden Retrievers and other high-shedding, high-allergen producing breeds, this makes it nearly impossible for those individuals to have access to a service dog for their individual needs.
This is why we set out to focus solely on providing service dogs to children with autism that are only from breeds that are known to be as allergen-friendly as possible, such as Goldendoodles and Labradoodles. We take this even further with focusing on multi-generational lines from these breeds, which increases the allergen-friendliness of their coats and minimizes risk to allergic reactions.
Acerca de
We are a newly founded NPO (2021), with the goal of providing a minimum of 50 specially trained, hypo-allergenic service dogs to children with autism each year.
