Culpepper Garden, owned by the nonprofit Arlington Retirement Housing Corporation, is an award-winning, nonprofit retirement community with a mission to provide affordable housing and services that allow low income older adults to thrive. Culpepper Garden is home to over 400 low-income older adults annually who live in 346 independent living and assisted living apartments.
When Culpepper Garden opened its Assisted Living in 2000, it was the first facility in the U.S. to combine affordable housing with assisted living services. It is still the only such facility in Arlington County, VA, and allows our residents to age in place in our caring community.
We have a proven track record of serving as Northern Virginia’s safety net for low-income seniors. Culpepper Garden provides the supportive programs and services our residents need to stabilize their lives and allow them to remain in their home at Culpepper Garden. These programs and services are part of our distinctive tradition of caring and giving that has made a critical difference in the lives of our residents for decades.
