More than just crowdfunding. Community-led positive change.

ioby (eye-OH-be) stands for "in our backyards." ioby is a digital crowd-resourcing platform that supports resident-led, neighbor-funded initiatives that make neighborhoods stronger. Our mission is to mobilize neighbors who have good ideas to become powerful civic leaders who plan, fund, and make positive change in their own neighborhoods.

ioby gives resident leaders the ability to organize all kinds of capital—cash, social networks, in-kind donations, volunteers, advocacy—to build real, lasting change from the ground up.

ioby launched in beta in 2009 as a NYC pilot. Since then we've grown into a national organization that has supported residents to raise over $20 million in resident philanthropy for 3,700 local projects.

ioby was recognized by the Obama Foundation for contributions to civic innovation, was awarded the Jane Jacobs Medal by the Rockefeller Foundation, and an American Civic Collaboration Award for increasing civic participation.
