Comprehensive Mental Health Systems, Inc., CMHS, is a private, non-profit human services organization founded in 1978.
CMHS and its employees are dedicated to providing an environment of consideration, respect and care that enables individuals to enhance independence, learn new skills, be productive and actively participate in meaningful activities.
Funded under contract with the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC), CMHS provides 24/7 residential support services for adults (over the age of 22) with intellectual/developmental disabilities and brain injury to assist with all aspects of daily living skills, to promote community involvement and maximize individual potential. The provision of 24-hour supports at home and in the community is designed to foster rights, dignity, individual control, community membership, relationships, personal growth and well-being.
The Core Clinical Team, under the direction of the Clinical Director, is responsible for oversight, development and coordination of all aspects of an individual’s care and for on-going assessment of medical and behavioral status. The Agency nurses provide direct individual medical assessment and support, as well as ongoing staff development and training involving general health maintenance, special procedures or concerns.
