About our programs

Meals on Wheels, an outreach ministry here in Schuylkill County that services home bound seniors helping them to remain independent and in their own homes. We work in cooperation with The Office of Senior Services to deliver 5 meals per week to over 500 clients. These meals are delivered Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Health & Wellness, provides health information to older adults in a way that is upbeat, encouraging and fun. The program focuses on health promotion, disease prevention activities, and health risk screening reaching hundreds of seniors in Schuylkill County.

Senior Community Resource Centers in Schuylkill County promote the social, emotional, physical and nutritional well being of older adults through a variety of community-based services and activities. Senior Centers currently serve approximately 270 congregate meals in addition to providing County seniors with help completing PACE applications, obtaining STS bus passes etc. The program is funded in part by the Office of Senior Services.

APPRISE offers counseling on Medigap, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and prescription drug plans to seniors in Schuylkill County. Trained volunteers provide counseling, answer questions, and help to file appeals on health insurance denials. APPRISE volunteers also give coverage in the Telecenter twice weekly. The program is funded in part by the Office of Senior Services in Schuylkill County.
