American Thoracic Society, Inc.

The American Thoracic Society, Inc. is an independently incorporated, international, educational and scientific society which focuses on respiratory and critical care medicine. The Society has more than 13,000 members, 25% of whom are outside the United States. The Society's members help prevent and fight respiratory disease around the world through research, education, patient care, and advocacy. The Society's long-range goal is to decrease morbidity and mortality from respiratory disorders & life-threatening acute illnesses. The ATS publishes two highly respected peer-reviewed scientific journals and annually produces the world's largest scientific conference for respiratory and critical care medicine.
