Best Buddies in Virginia & DC

Best Buddies in Virginia & DC (BBVADC) was established in 2005. We currently serve over 4,700 students in 93 friendship chapters throughout Virginia and Washington, D.C. In addition, over 300 adults are matched in one-to-one friendships in Citizens, our adult friendship program, and 50 individuals are placed in supported employment through our Best Buddies Jobs program. Best Buddies International is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower the abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.
