Susan Sutton, founder of The EMBER Project, knows firsthand what it feels like to be counted out. She became pregnant between 9th and 10th grade-smart, ambitious, and determined-but quickly dismissed by teachers and peers who believed she had ruined her life. Despite the whispers, Susan graduated with straight A’s, became the first in her family to attend college, and worked tirelessly to create a better future for her daughter. It wasn’t until her 40s that she began to see her own worth, and everything changed. Today, Susan is more successful than she ever imagined, and The EMBER Project exists to help young mothers ignite that same belief in themselves and transform their futures.
