AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a nation-wide, college readiness program that focuses on the "academic middle" of middle and high school aged students. The program functions as an elective class that motivated students apply for by showing their willingness to go the extra mile for their academics. These students are taught key skills that will better them in their current academics so that they not only get into a university, but are prepared to thrive in that university once they arrive.
