In early 1999, Harold E. Eisenberg passed away suddenly from cancer involving the liver. Almost immediately, Harold's friends and colleagues established the Foundation in his name to perpetuate Harold's love of people and passion for learning that enriched so many.

Today, it has grown to become one of the nation's largest organizations committed to gastrointestinal cancer research. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting this important and rapidly growing field that has, in the past, remained largely unpublicized and poorly funded despite this type of cancer's devastating impact on so many lives.

The Harold Eisenberg Foundation is dedicated to raising funds that support cancer research, offering scholarship opportunities for college students and mentoring young people by providing unique opportunities in the business world. These were the values that Harold lived by and they remain at the core of Foundation's mission.
