Seventh & Sourou Gentlemen's Academy

Education bears the mantle of "the great equalizer" but for low-income inner city or rural children, and especially minority children, access to equal education simply is not reality in our country. Minority males are affected more than any other group. In Atlanta, almost 70% of Black male students in the 8th grade score below the basic reading level, while none reach the advanced.1 Of those that beat the odds and make it to college, only 1 in 40 will graduate. 2 Seventh & Sourou is a single gender 6-12 grade concept charter school that provides a stable and supportive learning environment in which students can excel academically and personally. We believe quality education is an inherent right for all youth regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic background.
