The Right Path Riding Academy

To provide an equestrian environment where special needs children and adults can achieve their highest potential - physically, emotionally, and cognitively - through the unique avenue of therapeutic horseback riding, cart driving, and other equine-assisted activiteis. "Horses that Heal and Heart that Care" is our motto.

We are a non profit organization created to help people with special needs enjoy the benefits of equine assisted activities. These include riding, cart driving, grooming, ground exercises, and other activities associated with horses. We use certified instructors and trained volunteers to plan and implement individualized programs for each student. Located on a cattle ranch south of Drumright in Creek County and founded by Leslie Kirkland, a registered prhysical therapist, we have provided these services for those with special needs since 1996.

The benefits that occur because of the horse's movement are improved balance, core strength, posture, and mobility. The horse as a motivator can help stimulate children with speech problems, learning delays.

We have indoor and outdoor arenas. Children attend a 1 hour class once a week and class days are Mon.through Fri., days and evenings.

Fundraising activities occur throughout the year, and our major fundraiser is held in October.
