Voice & Vision Inc.

The ENVISION Retreat is the core of Voice & Vision’s programming. Every summer, we invite six creative teams to Bard College and give them unlimited rehearsal space, delicious meals, and a newfound community. It is a creative haven for women theater artists and their collaborators, where they can experiment freely, without commercial pressures and without day-to-day stress. The ENVISION Lab offers select Retreat artists the chance to develop their projects further, back in the real world of New York City. Each Lab is tailored to the artist’s needs and the project’s current stage of development. Voice & Vision also hosts Playwriting Workshops for women, led by renowned playwrights such as Lisa D’Amour, Karen Finley, Karen Hartman, and Dael Orlandersmith. Voice & Vision’s new Mentoring program pairs young theater professionals with mentors in their fields. These young women establish relationships with seasoned artists, whose direction is invaluable to early career playwrights, directors, actors, and producers.
