NAMI PAYSON

The National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

NAMI Payson was started by a small but determined group of individuals in 2016. They understood the need for support and education for mental health in Rim County. In 2016, NAMI Payson attained its 501C3 status and has more than tripled its membership.

This dedicated group of individuals have been meeting regularly and attending trainings, and on April 2016 the NAMI Family Support Group was launched with the help of the Community Presbyterian Church in Payson. Each fall NAMI Payson offers NAMI Family to Family classes at the Gila County Community College. This twelve week program provides support and education for families and caregivers of with mental illness.
