Everyday we treat thousands of people all over the world affected by conflicts, epidemics, natural disasters or excluded from health care. We intervene where we are most needed. We are doctors, nurses, logistics experts, administrators, engineers, architects, epidemiologists, laboratory technicians and psychologists.

At the heart of our identity is the commitment to be independent, neutral and impartial. These principles have guided every aspect of our work since MSF was founded in 1971.

Thanks to more than 45 years of experience, we intervene in all humanitarian emergencies quickly and effectively. Our medical activities range from the management of hospitals, clinics and nutritional centers, to war and routine surgery, to the fight against epidemics and psychological support for victims of trauma.

Just like providing medical care, public testimony is also part of our DNA. When we witness extreme violence against people or groups, we are not silent. We are not sure that words can save lives, but we know for sure that silence kills.
