As an organisation, we operate in the field of development cooperation, working to promote and protect the right to health. We understand this right to mean not only the absence of diseases or illnesses, but as complete physical, psychological and social well-being. Although the right to health is deemed a fundamental and universal human right, millions of people lack access to health care or even to basic sanitary conditions.
We find such variations in standards of health around the world to be unacceptable, especially when there are means to overcome them through viable and accessible measures. We believe that correcting these inequities is a question of social justice, as much within individual nations as between them. Our main thematic areas are:
- Neglected Tropical Diseases and in particular Leprosy, Buruli Ulcer, Chagas disease, Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever and Leishmaniasis. - Community Health - Maternal / Child Health & Reproductive Health - Human Trafficking
