Muungano Development Gateways is an indigenous Non-political membership organization which is Non-secretariat and non-profit making started in 2005 as a work camp organization registered under the societies act. MDG was registered as a Non-government organization by the establishment of the NGO Coordination Act. MDG Philosophy MDG seeks to promote inter-cultural education, international peace, inter-human understanding and solidarity as well as sustainable community development through voluntary service.SUPPORTING THE NEEDY: MDG as a development agency invests heavily in development education empowerment and capacity building via its philosophy of “DEVELOPMENT AGAINST DEPENDENCE”, WE discourage communities from always being at the receiving end of development programmes but strive to employ own strategies to achieve true development and restore their own cherished human dignity. Human centered development is the key focus of MDG intervention strategies and MDG has the commitment to mobilize resources in partnership with development partners.MDG will ensure that the right procedures and systems are in place and development should not be a tool of the “halves” to suppress the “have-nots”. EDUCATIONAL TOUR; MDG organizes special Education Tour to areas of interests at a separate cost of Euros 300 per person for a three days package that includes accommodation, meals and transport. MDG provides a guide. Educational tour is optional and motivated to offer unique opportunity for our volunteers, spectacular that what tourism offers 20% of the cost goes to support MDG community projects and enhances our capacity to build upon existing structures by self-help groups.
