Volunteers give fulltime caregivers a short break (2-4hrs) while providing safe, supervised companionship to carereceiver.
Free respite is provided regularly once-a-week or as needed for caregivers to give them a much needed break from the overwhelming, often frustrating tasks of constant caring. Respite allows them to keep doctor appointments, shop, attend club meetings or church, play cards, etc. which keeps them connected in their community and helps them maintain their own health. Volunteers do not do personal care or perform any medical duties. Training is provided and a travel stipend is offered.
