We are the largest funded project of Maddie's Fund, the Pet Rescue Foundation. Our Project consists of the Maddie's Pet Rescue Project, a collaboration of eleven leading animal welfare organizations in Maricopa County.

Maricopa County is the second largest animal welfare system in the country only second to Los Angeles County. More than 100,000 abandoned cats and dogs find themselves entering our shelter system each year. Thus in 2002, the leading animal shelters and rescue groups in Maricopa County formed a partnership with a common cause: to find a solution to this staggering shelter over-population problem. Today, we work collaboratively as the Maddie's Pet Rescue Partners through the Maddie's Pet Rescue Project in Maricopa County, sharing space, expertise, and other resources for pet adoption.

On November 12, 2007 the Maddie’s Pet Rescue Partners joined together with PETCO Foundation and opened the Maddie’s Projects Adoption Center in Gilbert, AZ. The Maddie's Projects Adoption Center has been designed as a model for collaborative, community partnerships in shelter animal adoptions. The Adoption Center provides much needed extra adoption space for our Partners, opening up kennel space in their facilities and foster homes for more animals needing preparation for adoption.
