Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child(CAPEC)

The Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child(CAPEC) is a non-governmental organisation working in Cameroon.The organisation has been working with children/youths,parents,government bodies and intergovernmental bodies in the promotion of children affairs.It works to identified the needs of children/youths especially the rural child,the underprivileged and the weaker section of the society through participatory approach. CAPEC runs the following programmes; -Volunteer for Development(VODEC) -Sponsor a child -Child labour elimination on the Cocoa sector -HIV/AIDS Prevention. The organisation objectives are; To make known the rights of the child and protect them through education as prescribed by the UN Convention.To achieve this goal, the organisation carries out the following activities; Visit community centers,social centers,health centers,orphanages and prisonsas well as primary and secondary educational institutions to assist the needy child Organise symposiums,workshop and education programmes via radio television,newspaper and orally in rural areas through chiefs and elites on the rights of the Child and to combat juvenile delinquency.
