The Arnold P. Gold Foundation

The Gold Foundation is dedicated to keeping the CARE in healthcare, so that patients are at the center of every healthcare interaction. To that end, the Foundation has been advocating for care that is as respectful and considerate of a patient’s physical and emotional well being as it is sophisticated in its technology. In our work to re-balance the art and science of medicine, we have launched a series of initiatives designed to set expectations, provide role models and curricula experiences to ensure that physicians remain steadfast in their commitment to deliver this model of compassionate patient care. One of our main objectives is to bring the patient’s perspective and experience into medical education – to bring the voice of the patient to the ear of the doctor.

The Gold Foundation creates and supports national programs for which schools, teaching hospitals and other appropriate institutions may apply. We also provide funding for innovative projects proposed by students, residents and faculty.
