The Environmental Center

The Environmental Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to embed sustainability into daily life in central Oregon.

The Center was founded in 1987 by a small group of local citizens and has grown into a regional information headquarters for individuals in our community as well as environmental organizations and agencies working on behalf of a healthy, sustainable environment.

Our mission is to embed sustainability into daily life in central Oregon. Our work:

• Bridges the gap between environmental awareness and everyday action
• Builds common ground for our member groups to collaborate upon
• Designs programs that inspire constructive change in daily lives
• Advocates for policies that improve the quality of life in our community
• Educates children on the interconnectedness of humanity, prosperity and ecology
