Acerca de

Early Era Collective’s mission is to present multi-form art featuring diverse perspectives for diverse audiences. We are truly a collective, collaborating with dancers from contemporary, hip-hop, tap, and ballet backgrounds, as well as spoken word artists, filmmakers, actors, and any other art forms we'd like to tackle. Each production carries a social justice message folded into its artistry, emphasizing personal stories over political message.

We have accomplished a lot in our first year of programming, and are ambitious to create even more for the year 2020! We are planning for at least two more live productions, an original film, and our first tour. Please consider investing in our mission today!

Building on six years of professional dance projects under the previous title Stephanie Patrick Dance, Early Era Collective debuted with three new works in the fall of 2018 and became a non-profit in January 2019. Our short dance film They Go Wild has featured at festivals around the world, including NYC: Shorts of All Sorts Directed by Women, Tipperary Dance Platform International Film Festival (Ireland), and Oaxaca Film Fest (Mexico). Locally, we showcased work for Seam Project and Austin Poetry Slam. Our 2019 fall productions - Of Thee I Swing and Louder Than Words - had successful multi-night runs with many sold-out performances. Our Artistic Director, Stephanie Patrick, was nominated for Best Choreographer/Dancer of 2019 by The Austin Chronicle.
