Haitian American Art Network, Inc., is a non-profit, tax-exempt, community-based organization with the mission to provide comprehensive social support services in a culturally sensitive manner; educate, entertain, and promote while erasing stereotypes and embracing diversity through Art.

Founded in 1998, Haitian American Art Network, Inc. (HAAN) was established to address the social, cultural, and systemic barriers faced by Haitian Americans, immigrants, youth, and underserved communities. HAAN is rooted in the belief that art is both a healing tool and a powerful catalyst for social change, specifically in the community. We (HAAN) create inclusive spaces where individuals can express themselves, preserve the Haitian culture and its identity, and gain access to meaningful support services.

HAAN serves children, youth, families, immigrants, artists, and community members of all backgrounds, with a primary focus on Haitian and Caribbean populations in Central Florida and beyond. Many of the community residents we encounter experience some form of barriers: language access, cultural isolation, economic instability, and very limited access to culturally responsive resources. All of our services and events have been to meet people where they are, honoring lived experiences while fostering dignity, empowerment, and community connection.

Haitian American Art Network, Inc., works are guided by core values of cultural pride, equity, inclusion, collaboration, and resilience. HAAN intentionally centers culturally sensitive practices, ensuring that services, programming, and engagement reflect the traditions, histories, and voices of the communities we serve. By using art as a universal language, HAAN bridges cultural gaps, challenges harmful stereotypes, and promotes understanding across diverse populations.

HAAN’s programming integrates arts-based education, youth empowerment, cultural awareness, and community engagement. Through workshops, performances, exhibitions, school-based presentations, and signature community events, the organization provides opportunities for creative expression, leadership development, and intergenerational learning. These initiatives not only celebrate Haitian culture and heritage but also encourage cross-cultural dialogue and appreciation.

In addition to artistic and cultural programming, HAAN serves as a trusted community connector, collaborating with schools, grassroots organizations, faith-based institutions, and advocacy partners to expand access to resources and support services. This collaborative approach strengthens community networks and amplifies collective impact.
