THE CHILDRENS TREEHOUSE FOUNDATION
Misión
Acerca de
Cancer impacts the entire family. For children, the impact of a loved one's cancer can be a tremendous source of trauma and leave scars that last a lifetime.
For over two decades, the Children's Treehouse Foundation has researched, developed, and distributed evidence-based cancer support for families. Our flagship program, CLIMB(r) (Children's Lives Include Moments of Bravery), is used in hospitals around the United States and worldwide in countries such as Japan and Ireland. During the six-week program, children and teens use our art-based curriculum to demystify cancer and to develop skills to recognize and confront challenging emotions head-on. A parent's program offers parents, guardians and caregivers practical tools for building family communication and to address a significant source of stress: the uncertainty and fear regarding the impact of the cancer journey on the children in their lives.
Our goal is to help move the needle forward toward truly comprehensive cancer care. By working hard to get our programs into hospitals and cancer centers everywhere, we are expanding equitable access to critical family support for cancer patients and their families.
