PUMPKINS FOR PIGS FOUNDATION

We strive to divert edible food stuffs that would otherwise be discarded in landfills to animals for feed or for compost by providing the general public a network of donation sites accepting such food stuffs. Through this network, non-food items are also diverted from landfills such as hay/straw bails, holiday trees, and kiddie pools. Our educational efforts intend to reduce food waste before it starts through tips on meal planning, buying less, and composting scraps. Education efforts also shed light on the impacts of food waste on the world around us - starting in the communities we live in.

Through this work, we strive to build, bring together, and inspire communities to help one another through service to others - both human and animal. We also hope to highlight the hundreds of small businesses in our communities that - through their ingenuity, creativity, and grit - provide us with amazing food, hand-made products, and so much more
