    About the Stranahan House: A private, non-profit organization established in 1984, the Stranahan House Museum’s goal is to preserve, interpret, and promote the history of Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the site has been a community center, a post office, a bank and private home to Frank and Ivy Stranahan. In 1984, the house was restored to its original state and opened to the public, where today it remains a museum for all to understand and enjoy the rich history of Fort Lauderdale’s historic beginnings.
